NOMINATIONS ARE OPEN FOR BEST OF BIOTECH 2019
The 2019 edition of Best Of Biotech (BOB) officially kicked off on the 3rd April, this is the International business plan competition dedicated to the Life Science sector.
The event is sponsored and organized by AWS (visit website), the innovation agency of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Austrian Digital, and it enjoys the support of some of the most important companies in the sector, such as Boehringer Ingelheim, Roche Austria and LISAvienna.
BOB wants to stimulate and support science-based entrepreneurship, promoting two parallel paths of evaluation and coaching producing innovative ideas at different stages of maturity and in different market sectors (Biotech/Pharma; Digital Health; Medtech).
The Polo bioPmed will contribute to the initiative by participating in the international jury with two expert evaluators and dealing directly with the coaching projects from Italy.

The two paths proposed by BOB are:
Early Stage Track Dedicated to innovative ideas and aimed at creating a pitch. The best pitch in each category will receive a cash prize of 5,000 EUR. Start-up Phase Track Dedicated to projects under Start-up and aimed at the formalisation of a comprehensive Business Plan. The best project in each category will receive a cash prize of 7,500 EUR.

A team of expert evaluators will select the 3 best projects in each category (Biotech/Pharma; Digital Health; Medtech) within both these paths. These will be offered a coaching session to hone their pitch / business plan for the final evaluation.
The prizes will be awarded by an international jury made up of leading experts from the world of science, industry and finance, and delivered during the BOB final event to be held in Vienna on 22nd and 23rd October 2019.
Students, post-graduates, experienced scientists and other creatives who wish to translate their ideas in the field of life sciences into a startup with a professional business plan can all participate in the competition. The initiative is open to projects from all over the world and will have English as the official language.
