Five million euros to develop and strengthen Contamination Lab (CLab) in Italian universities is offered in the tender published by the Ministry of Education, Universities and Research.
CLab are areas of so-called ‘contamination’ between students and PhD students from different disciplines, that are linked to the promotion of new learning models and the development of innovative projects with a community and entrepreneurial mission.
This contamination, the central element of the project, can function in different directions: including students from different courses and departments sharing projects and mastering new skills; between students and teachers from different disciplines and backgrounds; with third party players from the world of production (companies, startups, investors, chambers of commerce, associations, technological clusters, etc.), but also schools, institutions (local and national) and third sector organisations; with European and international actors, to build partnerships and collaborations and foster the mobility of students together with strengthening the internationalisation of the University.
Each project will have a maximum duration of 36 months and will be funded up to 300,000 Euro. The Ministry of Education has made available 5 million euro for project funding paid by the Development and Cohesion Fund (FSC). The finance available, net of evaluation and monitoring costs, will be shared, based on the list resulting from the panel of experts’ assessments, according to the following geographical distribution: 3/5 for South, 2/5 for the Centre-North. The notice also provides for the establishment of a National Contamination Lab network up to a total value of 150,000 euro.
Applications must be submitted through the telematics platform (http://clab.cineca.it), starting at 12.00 on the 20th December 2016 until 12.00 on the 15th February 2017, using the online form on the site.
