From the 7th to 11th September we will be back with Le Due Culture, the meeting organised by Biogem, Ariano Irpino's (OF) Research Centre, a partner of Biotechnomed, created with the aim of contributing to the exchange between the representatives of scientific and humanistic culture.
The eighth edition of the meeting, which takes place in Avellino, is dedicated to the relationship between the human and the animal worlds and is inspired by Karl Popper’s affirmation: “All animals, including me, express themselves “, in an attempt to explore peculiar similarities and differences.
Guests of honour are Nobel Prize winners, Takaaki Kajita from Japan, Nobel Prize in Physics in 2015 and from Switzerland Werner Arber, Nobel Prize in Medicine 1978. Once again this year, the meeting will hear great voices from both of the “two cultures”: Enrico Alleva, Luisella Battaglia, Edward Boncinelli, Antonio Eridato, Maurizio Ferraris, Ludovico Galleni, Silvio Garattini, Paolo Isotta, Antonio Malo, Roberto Marchesini, Antonio Pascale, Pasquale Terracciano, Giorgio Vallortigara.
In addition to providing literary, artistic and musical pathways, including a concert from the well known Maestro Nazzareno Carusi, this year the “Maria Antonia Gervasio” literary prize is due to be awarded to the work that best represents the spirit of the “two cultures”, including those published in Italy in the two years 2015-2016. Through the medium of this event, Biogem – celebrating its tenth anniversary this year – intends to tangibly disseminate a culture of innovation and development throughout the region.
