The project Hearthdrive, funded under the ROP ERDF Calabria 2007-2013 Strategic Projects on the Agenda of Innovation Poles, It provides for the integration of the most innovative scientific and technological knowledge of e-health and the most advanced experiences biomedical industry, in order to test and develop devices, innovative processes and services to support welfare programs for the diagnosis, prognosis, treatment and rehabilitation of heart failure and its main comorbidities.
Using a multidisciplinary approach, the project involved different scientific and technological fields: clinical medicine, regenerative and reconstructive surgery, cell biology and pathophysiology, the biology of stem cells, nanotechnology applied, the science of biomaterials, preventive medicine, let bioingegneria, bio-security and the management of environmental quality.
The evolution of the project has led to the definition of an integrated approach based on continuity and customization of complex patient care. The support services provided in the area of decision making actors of the health system and provide patients with new tools to monitor the course of their disease.
