You have until 22nd June 2017 to submit proposals to tender for the assembling of joint scientific research projects (academic years 2018-2020) from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) and the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). The initiative forms part of the Memorandum of Understanding between Italy and China signed in Beijing on 17th November 2015 at the Italy-China Science, Technology & Innovation Week 2015, and aims to expand bilateral cooperation to the field of basic sciences, opening more spaces for dialogue between the two scientific communities.
Projects may be proposed relating to one of the following research areas: new materials (with particular interest in two-dimensional systems and graphene); environment (with particular attention to the urban circular economy); physics and astrophysics (with an emphasis on quantum technologies and dark matter); health (with attention to issues of personalised medicine, genomics and chronic diseases). Proposals will be evaluated by a Joint Commission based on the criteria specified in the notice. The selected projects will then have a request submitted for annual co-financing, according to the format required for projects of “great importance”.
The submission of proposals is carried out via the dedicated online platform.
