The VIII edition of the Start Cup Calabria has just finished at the Castello Svevo in Cosenza with a great result for the Magna Graecia University of Catanzaro.
BixBis was ranked first in the Regional competition for innovative business ideas; it is in fact a solution to reduce resistance to antibiotics proposed by Luca Gallelli, researcher in pharmacology at Magna Graecia University Catanzaro and his team: Dominic Apa, Manuela Colosimo, Cesare Lucia.
BixBis is a rapid diagnostic kit that allows general practitioners, paediatricians and health professionals to discriminate between bacterial and viral infections. The device therefore allows reduction in the development of resistance to antibiotic therapy and the social costs associated with it.
The runner-up, ALL WEATHER, had produced a solution designed to cut CO2 emissions through the use of algae, while in third place was EASYLIFE, a project dedicated to those who suffer from epilepsy.
