INNOVABIOVASC – INNOVAtive strategies for the delivery of autophagy-Based cardIOVASCular therapies

Description:

The INNOVABIOVASC project aims to develop a new therapeutic strategy for cardiovascular diseases, based on the use of nanomedicine and a smart inhaler to stimulate autophagy at the cardiac level.

The approach involves the combined administration of trehalose and the Tat-Beclin D11 peptide, substances capable of promoting the activation of autophagy and potentially improving cardiac function. To overcome the limits of traditional administration, the active ingredients will be conveyed through innovative nanoparticles capable of reaching the heart more effectively.

The system will be integrated into a smart inhaler equipped with sensors and Artificial Intelligence algorithms, capable of synchronizing drug delivery with the patient's respiratory cycle and optimizing the deposition of nanoparticles. The device will also be reusable and sustainable, with refillable or replaceable cartridges made from recyclable materials.
